NYFW: Intergalactic ’90s Supermodel Hair by Bobby Michael Using R+Co BLEU

New York Fashion Week is where beauty, fashion and imagination collide, and for Wiederhoeft's SS27 runway collection "Queens," lead stylist Bobby Michael, R+Co Global Educator, created a beauty look that balanced futuristic fantasy with the nostalgic glamour of one of fashion’s most iconic eras: the 1990s supermodel.

Rather than creating something overly sculpted or futuristic for the bridal/evening/ready-to-wear collection, Bobby’s approach combined exaggerated volume and movement of a ’90s supermodel blowout transported into a sci-fi universe: full-bodied, airy, glossy and designed to move as the models walked.
The result was statement hair without stiffness and volume you could still run your fingers through.
Step 1: Build the foundation Apply R+Co BLEU HIGHEST Volumizing Mousse or R+Co BLEU ROOT BOOSTER Volume Spray from the roots through the mid-lengths to begin building weightless fullness, lift and body.

Step 2: Rough dry Rough dry the hair, using hands to encourage natural volume and movement. The goal is not to make the hair overly perfect. The finished look should retain softness and life.
Step 3: Create the shape Adapt the technique to the model’s natural hair texture.
