R+CO LOVE Affiliate FAQs

Updated: December 2025

Updates to the R+Co Affiliate Program

R+Co Love was created in 2020 to support salons during COVID at a time when online shopping was essential and in-person traffic was unpredictable. It helped salons keep revenue flowing during an unprecedented period. As the industry has shifted back to in-salon services and clients are craving real, in-person experiences, we’re realigning our resources to support what's driving the most revenue for salons today: services and treatments, client retention and loyalty, elevated salon experiences, services and treatments.

What is changing in the affiliate program?

We’re updating our affiliate program to make payouts faster, smoother, and more secure. Going forward, affiliates will need to complete required account and tax paperwork and request their payouts within the timelines outlined in the updated Affiliate Terms. Commissions will be considered earned once those steps are completed.

What’s changing with commissions?

A. When someone shops through an affiliate link:
• Nothing changes.
• Standard commission rates stay the same.

B. When a customer shops through an R+Co email, SMS, ad or other R+Co-initiated marketing:
• Affiliates are rewarded with half of the direct commission rate.
o Example: 40% → 20%, 20% → 10%, 15% →7.5%

What is “attribution,” and is it changing?

Attribution is how long a customer stays connected to an affiliate after making a purchase with an email address tied to that affiliate.
• Salon Affiliates: Nothing changes. Remains a 365-day trailing attribution and resets every time a customer purchases.
• Stylists under a salon: Nothing changes. Remains a 365-day trailing attribution. Resets every time a customer purchases.
• Influencers + Independent Stylists: Changing to 90-day trailing attribution. Resets every time the customer purchases.

Is the cookie changing?

No. Nothing about cookies is changing. The cookie is still 7 days. If a customer clicks an affiliate link and checks out within 7 days, the full standard commission is received. If the customer shops through R+Co-initiated marketing, the affiliate will earn half of the standard commission rate.

When do the changes take effect?

The updated terms will go into effect on January 1, 2025. Please ensure you take any required steps prior to this date.

What happens to my existing links and commissions?

• Your existing commissions are still yours. Nothing about the program update reduces or removes commissions you’ve already earned under the current terms. If you have outstanding commissions that require additional information – such as submitting tax forms or setting up your payout methond- we’ll provide a grace period so you can complete those items.
• All current tracking links remain active and unchanged, including any QR codes that have been set up.

Will I still get paid for commissions already earned?

Yes. Any commissions you earned before the change will still be paid out as long as you complete the necessary paperwork and provide the information needed to process the payment. We’ll give you clear instructions and time to finish any remaining steps.

Do salon customers need to change how they shop?

• Customers can shop online exactly as they always have, through an affiliate link initiated by the salon (ex: their link, QR code, shared post, link in bio, Instagram Story link, a text to a client) and the affiliate will continue to earn as they always have.
• If a purchase is driven by R+Co-led marketing (such as an email, SMS, or paid ad), the commission automatically adjusts.

Attribution applies as it always has: automatically, based on the email address the client uses at checkout.

Will new salons be able to join the program?

Yes. New salons can join and will enter under the updated structure.

Do current affiliates need to re-sign or enroll again?

No, you don’t need to re-enroll. However, you may be asked to update or confirm your account details or tax information so we can ensure payouts are handled correctly under the updated program.

Are the dashboards still active?

Yes. Refersion + the LBP Pro Dashboard are still live, no changes. The R+Co Love newsletter, R+Co Love Instagram, and the HairMail app are retired.

Who should salons contact with questions?

Regional Brand Managers are the point of contact for any questions.
