BLEU x NYFW with Anna Sui

Inspired by deep blue waters and environmental sustainability at the forefront, it's no surprise that R+Co BLEU was the perfect collection to invent statement-making hairstyles for Anna Sui's SS24 collection this fashion week.

Anna Sui's collection merged beauty and fashion with a statement on climate change and the importance of protecting the oceans, so R+Co founder and long-time hair collaborator to Sui, Garren, took the opportunity to lean into the whimsical fluidity of underwater beauty, environmental sustainability and the movement of Sui's fabrics.

With a nod to the mermaid, Garren opted for styles close to the head, as if the models were mermaid just out of the water, and added an emphasis on healthy shine that gave the illusion of water-infused hair without looking soaked.

The "fantasy mermaid" finish on hair was created with a handpicked selection of BLEU's most transformative products including the ROSE WATER Wave Spray, OPTICAL ILLUSION Smoothing Oil, and either REBOUNCE Natural Texture & Curl Defining Creme or ESSENTIAL Spray Tonic depending on the models' texture.

HOW TO

1. Wash and condition hair with DE LUXE REPARATIVE Shampoo + Conditioner.

2. For models with wavy hair, work REBOUNCE Natural Texture & Curl Defining Crème throughout hair. For those with straight hair, spritz Essential Hair Tonic and work through hair until dry.

3. Section by section using a small curling wand, curl large sections of the hair around the wand for a nice, deep wave. Go layer by layer and do not touch the curls or pull through.

4. Part hair down the middle and tuck behind the ears. Apply OPTICAL ILLUSION Smoothing Oil hair by swiping it through the sides of the hair and the top to give the slight illusion of wetness, but still separated and piecey.

5. For the shorter bobbed curl with finger waves, use SURREAL Styling Serum and apply close to the head parting in the middle, with a deep part. This makes the look tight and slick, perfect for short styles.
