I’m all about one step shampoo!
I don’t use conditioner because it weighs down my hair and I have a shag that I like to add as much texture to as possible, this is a game changer for me! It conditions my hair just enough to add some softness and definitely adds a nice amount of texture that I can amp up with rockaway.
this is a great option for anyone who loves cactus but finds it a bit too drying/gritty for your hair!
I LOVE this shampoo! I can go 3 days without washing my hair and my hair still looks / feels clean! Any other shampoo makes my hair look lifeless & by the next day my hair looks DIRTY! I love Labyrinth! It’s a MUST HAVE
Bought for bf, whose hair goal is "make it look like matted FunFur." Where Cactus was an absolute REVELATION for him, this garnered a "Meh, it's like regular shampoo/conditioner. Don't bother buying more." Appx 95% of my ride-or-die hair products are R+Co (Dallas and Television s&c, Suncatcher, Dallas thickening spray, Balloon Dry Volume, and Skyline dry shampoo powder in particular) -- love this brand, and will buy all those products for as long as you make 'em, but Labyrinth is unfortunately a big nope.
To echo the other reviewers, this product is certainly NOT cactus.
I was told by R+Co support that Cactus was discontinued because it made hair too rough and hard to de-tangle. To me, that was the whole point of the product? I would assume that the people who Cactus was designed for (myself included) weren't experiencing "too rough" or tangles. And, conditioner should solve the de-tangling issue for those who were. Maybe the fix here was to stop recommending 'skipping your conditioner' on the bottle?
Anyone with fine, too-smooth, or limp hair knows that applying conditioner to the roots is a no-no. I'm not sure how we are expected to throw this fundamental knowledge out the window with Labyrinth, which claims to somehow produce the same results Cactus did. I will say that the Labyrinth product is okay, definitely isn't as bad as I expected it to be, but again this is NOT a replacement for Cactus. Why not offer both???
My suspicion is that Cactus' key ingredient -- Diatomaceous Earth -- is difficult to source and this is the real reason that they discontinued.
I also find it interesting the R+Co has only replied to the positive reviews and haven't addressed any of our concerns. Would love to hear more response from them!
