No Sesso, which is Italian for Italian for "no sex/no gender," is a community-powered brand that focuses on empowering people of all colors, shapes, and identities, featuring a wide range of prints, fabrics, reconstructed materials and, most notably, their signature hand embroidery.
With the theme of inclusivity and futuristic nonconformity, lead hairdresser Malcolm Marquez made custom hair pieces layered with R+Co MOTORCYCLE Flexible Gel and WALL ST Strong Hold Gel that were bent and molded into architectural structures pinned into the models’ hair. “I love to go over-the-top with hair, and I was really inspired by the theme of sexy futurism, sculpture, architecture and organic shapes,” Marquez says.
STEP 1: Prep hair accents with layers of WALL ST and MOTORCYCLE gel.
STEP 2: Detangle natural hair with PINSTRIPE Intense Detangling Spray and blow out smooth.
STEP 3: Place hair in braids to set the foundation—some models with visible braids, others l covered with wigs or hair accents). Sleek braids and flyaways with CONTINENTAL Glossing Wax.
STEP 4: Cover full set with AIRCRAFT Pomade Mousse to retain body and shape.
STEP 5: For models where wigs are worn, spray hair with OUTER SPACE Flexible Hairspray and smooth/style as desired.
STEP 6: For models with hair accents, pin accents into hair and use VICIOUS Strong Hold Flexible Hairspray to spray the accents, shape them into place using the can of hairspray to reinforce shape.
