Editorial stylist Jayson Medina shook up singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding’s edgy rock star style and turned her into a modern-day ’70s vixen for the cover of Flare Magazine’s summer 2016 issue. “We pulled images of Farrah Faucet, Debbie Harry and Stevie Nicks for inspiration,” said Jayson. “Ellie wasn’t afraid to try something new. Her hair looked polished, but still retro and a bit funky.”
Get the Look:
- Prep hair with ONE Prep Spray and CHIFFON Styling Mousse.
- Blow dry the entire head, making sure to dramatically over direct for tons of volume and Farrah Faucet-style flips. Use a small brush along the hairline and blow dry the hair down toward the forehead for a drastic center part.
- Set hair with hot rollers and remove. Once hair has cooled, brush it out and finish with OUTER SPACE Flexible Hairspray.
